Okitipupa Local Government is witnessing a wave of commendation from stakeholders within the local government service sector, as the administration of Hon. Andrew Ogunsakin continues to demonstrate purposeful leadership and a strong commitment to people-centered development.

This commendation was made earlier today by the Permanent Secretary of the Local Government Service Commission, Dr. Bayo Ilawole during the annual town hall meeting between the Commission, the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), and staff of Okitipupa Local Government.

Dr. Ilawole described the local government as being in the best of hands, noting that the leadership style and commitment of the chairman have brought visible development and renewed confidence within the council system. He particularly commended Hon. Ogunsakin for his dedication to service delivery and the remarkable transformation recorded around the council secretariat.

According to him, the physical improvements within the secretariat complex since the inception of the administration clearly demonstrate purposeful leadership and reflect the goodwill the Hon. Andrew Ogunsakin led administration enjoys among workers and the wider public.

The meeting was attended by the State President of NULGE, Comrade Gbenga Friedrick Akinrinlola, alongside the union’s Secretary, Mrs. Ajisafe Modupe, the NULGE Women Coordinator, Mrs. Folakemi Alabi, and other members of the state executive.

In his remarks, Comrade Akinrinlola also commended the chairman for prioritizing the welfare of council staff and sustaining a cordial working relationship with the workforce. He stated that the chairman and his team have performed beyond expectations in creating a supportive environment for workers to thrive.

While applauding the administration’s achievements, the NULGE State President urged council staff to reciprocate the chairman’s goodwill by demonstrating commitment to their duties. He charged workers to maintain professionalism, ensure punctuality, and avoid absenteeism in order to enhance productivity within the local government system.

The town hall meeting provided an avenue for engagement between the commission, the labour union, and council staff, while profering a commitment to improved service delivery and effective grassroots governance in Okitipupa Local Government.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Okitipupa Local Government, Andrew Ogunsakin, appreciated the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) and the Local Government Service Commission for their continued support and constructive engagement with council workers.

He encouraged members of staff to uphold professionalism, remain dedicated to their duties, and continue to contribute meaningfully to effective grassroots governance. The chairman also urged workers to take full advantage of the recently upgraded staff clinic within the council secretariat, noting that the facility was improved to enhance the health and wellbeing of employees.

Hon. Ogunsakin further assured workers of plans to establish a modern staff canteen within the council premises where staff members can access healthy and affordable meals during working hours.

As a highlight of the event, selected council staff were presented with awards in recognition of their outstanding commitment, diligence, and exemplary service to the local government.
